Thennagur (Thennangur) is 40 kms from Kanchipuram and 6 kms from Vandavasi; you have several routes to take ; i would prefer the route on NH45 till Acharapakkam and then left towards Vandavasi and at Vandavasi, take the road towards Kanchipuram; at about 6 kms, you will find Thennagur the place where Pandurangan and Raghumayee are having their temple.

You could also take the traditional congested route to Kanchipuram and then on your way to Vandavasi, at 40 kms from Kanchipuram you will find Thennagur.

According to Kanchi Paramacharya, Thennagur or Dhakshina Haalaasyam is the place of birth of Goddess Meenakshi. The Thennaangur temple is a perfect fusion of the past and the present.Next to the Temple there is mutt where Haridas jalasamadhi is there.
