Question:

Shower Repair?

I seem to be having an issue with my shower. Everytime I turn on the shower, it flips the tripswitch from my electricty. I don't know what's up with it. I think maybe water got into the main circuit and is overloading the entire system, causing the tripswitch to go. Anyone have any idea what's wrong.

Thanks

Slugs ;)

  1. Call an electrician

  2. Turn off the electric to the shower, remove the cover, and check the wires on the terminal block are tight. A bad contact can cause the fuse to trip. If all is well, remove the shower head, and switch on shower to see if you have a free flow of water. at the same time clean any debris or scale in the shower head. If wiring in shower is okay, then check the wiring in the electric neon switch.

  3. Unless there is a huge bang when it trips, then you have some damp causing an earth leakage fault, tripping an RCD.

It's probably corrosion on the element. Replace the shower.

  4. do you have an electric hot water heater? might be a place to start looking.

  5. Need more info, but if your shower is an electric one then I would say the problem is the element has gone short circuit . If you have the equipment to test it & depending on the age of the unit it can be replaced

  6. 7. call a plumber.

  8. Nice, sell the house
