Shower invitations....help!?

I'm in a wedding in January. I am helping plan a bridal shower in September (the bride wants it early to get gifts ASAP). Anyway I finished all the invitations 2 weeks ago and sent them out. The mother of the bride is really anal about sending them out in a hurry. Yet, every few days they keep adding 1 or 2 more people. It getting annoying to have to make invitations. I finally stopped making nice ones and printing some out on the computer. Plus someone else was buying stamps and I keep having to drop off random invites. I have never planned a shower before but it seems really rude? What do you think?

  1. it is rude, but if you offer to do it you should make them all nice, just tell the mother that if she keepes adding people you dont have the time to be making more invitations,

  2. Go to http://www.eventphotocards.com or babylovecards.com they make my invitations

  3. I am laughing because I am in the same boat. Yes it is rude.......Have a list of guests stick to it. NO MORE you have to plan food where you are having it etc and there is nothing wrong with just saying I cannot have any more to the shower perhaps someone else could have one with some of the other guests you would like to invite. end of story. Otherwise you are going to run yourself ragged. Good Luck. Let me know how you make out. Anne

  4. I love doing showers for baby and bridal. But it defeats the purpose when it is being done for gifts mainly. The mom should have a little more consideration for your time and stop being so last minute. The purpose of a shower is so everyone can celebrate what is to come. Good Luck!

  5. Just a suggestion, but wouldnt it be cheaper to go to the dollar store and buy some there?  They normally have every occasion, if not you can add bridal shower.  Or you can print out a slip with the info and add it inside the invite, at least its not too tacky.  Mention to them that you do not want to mail out any more invites after sept 1st, and you need to finalize the guest list...something of that sort...make it seem honest and sweet...yet straight foward...

    good luck!!
