  1. This question was asked, answered and settled a very, very long time ago.

    Showers!

  2. A shower uses MUCH LESS water and energy to HEAT the water than a bath ANY DAY. If you want to see for yourself, next time you take a shower, plug the drain in the tub. When you're finished, see how much water is in the tub, and compare that to how much water you use in a sit-down bath.

You won't even get the water level up to your ankles in your average shower.

  3. shower

  4. obviously its shower

  5. Bath...

  6. It depends how long you shower, BUT:

As a test last year, I tried showering using a low-flow shower head and turning off the water when I wasn't getting wet or rinsing (using a valve on the head).  I saved the water, and used about 2.5 gallons total.

I haven't done that since, but if I had to... I could!

FYI:  The black solar-shower bags will not only save water, they let you heat the water for free.  Not recommended for winter weather, though.

  7. thats a good question, when people take baths, they usually hav the same maount of water in the tub, but people take showers and get out earlier, thats a good question, but since people usually take like 10 minute showers or so, i say showers use less water, if you run the bath water for 10 minutes compared to a 10 minute shower, the bath tub would overflow, a shower uses less water, PICK ME FOR BEST ANSWER

  8. The shower only if it is a navy stlye shower where you turn the water off to put on soap and the on again to rinse.

honestly i tried this at home... measure a normal bath and mark the tub.  Then next time you have a shower put the drain plug in  shower as normal and see how much water you use.  In our house we found we preferred showers as time saving but were suprised to find that they used the same or just a bit less  water than baths do.

But just on the fun side of green, For a family of three or four,  have each peson use the same bath water so everyone is good and clean just like the good old farm days, then using a 5 gallon pail, move the water from the bath to the washing machine add 1/2 cup of baking soda and a bit less detergent and wash a batch of clothes.  and now you have really saved!

  9. Using a shower saves much more water and as far as being more "greener", takes much less in heating water than compared to a bath.

An average shower (10-15 minutes) saves 3-4 more gallons than an average bath.

  10. Depends on your shower head and how long you're in the shower. generally a shower is better. If you plug the bath (if you have a tub shower) while showering, you can see how much water is in it at the end. Usually less full than it would be for a bath, atleast for me.

  11. shower uses much less especially if you use a flow adjusting shower rose.
