Shrimps and prawns???????

k this is goin to sound stupid but me and my dad were arguin about the difference between shrimps and prawns lol so is there a difference and if so what?

there might be technical differences between them, (i think there both the same animal)) but normal human beings use them both interchngably, or it varys upon where you are, like in australia they call them prawns and in the us they call them shrimps usually

Yes, there is a difference. Normal shrimp are quite small, let's say for example salad shrimp. Prawns are a type of shrimp, but they are much larger, such as the ones you can dip in cocktail sauce. Trying to give good examples lol. So who thought what?
