Shrinking a shirt that's too big around the waist..?

Question

Hi! I have a school spirit shirt that I need to be smaller around the waist. I've tried to shrink it (2 times) by putting it in hot water and drying it hot, but that only shrunk it a very little amount. I need to wear it to my cheer leading try out tomorrow and I don't want it looking too big! I also don't like to tie a little knot in the back or whatever a lot of people do to their shirts, I just want a normal fitting tee!! Thanks so Much! -Kay-

hey i know im a guy. but i usually have the same problem. the tshirt is usually to small for my shoulders and to wide for my waist.. its soo annoying! anyway. i usually shrink it like you did, it works for me. sorry i couldnt help more, good luck!

its totally cute if u cut it and tie it together around the sides

lemme explain: so u cut it to how tight u want it to be horizontally only like about an inch in and in 1/2 inch strips, but ONLY 1 INCH IN!!! then cut it up to the arm pit, then tie them together, and the same on the otherside, i think it looksuper cute!

i know that thats not a shirt, but thats how its supposed to look on the sides, tank top under it the same color as the letters on the shirt, it'll look cute!
