Shrinking screen.

Question

I have a 12 year old Toshiba 2877DB TV which works fine for awhile then starts having flickering black lines across the bottom of the screen. These become worse, after awhile a solid black line develops across the bottom and gets wider until the picture is shrunk into the top half of the screen. Sometimes after this point the screen will suddenly just blank out completely.
