I'm a 9th grader taking that test and I'm freaked out!!!!!! Last time I got a404 and didn't get in, I've been studying like crazy to get into any of those schools, can anyone reassure me that I'm freaking out TOO much, because I feel that studying is not good enough.

  1. for the 9th grade shsat, i heard over 1000 people apply, but about 30 or less get into Stuy, about 40 for Brooklyn tech.

as for freaking out, i think you should calm down. its not the end of the world if you dont get into one of these schools. just relax and have more confidence in yourself.

    Good luck!!

  2. i heard that it's really hard to get into a specialized high school when you're in 9th grade.....and they only have a few spots in each school...so you probably need well into the 500's to land a spot in a specialized high school

i took the test in 8th grade and go to stuy....the cutoff was like 560

if you got such a low score last time (no offense) you should probably have a different method of studying.....i had a tutor...but if thats too expensive theres also many different courses...i know kaplan offers a good one.

what have you been getting on your practice tests? you can look for a converter online to translate your score

it's ok to freak out a little bit especially if you actually arent prepared, but if you are prepared then dont freak out so much

    good luck
