Shu Wada overpowers Chun Hei Tam in first round contest at Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012
Japan’s budding player Shu Wada found a good start in Men’s Singles main draw as he overpowered Hong Kong’s Chun Hei Tam in first round encounter at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 in Macau, on Tuesday, November 27.
The passionate Wada, who has been proving his mettle in the arena in the last few months, displayed his elevated craft in the arena and remained successful in winning the battle by consuming just 31 minutes on court.
Japanese shuttler found a good rhythm in the opening points of the contest and maintained his upper hand over his Hong Kong challenger all the way and wrapped up victory in straight games with a reasonable margin.
In contrast, Chun Hei could not find ways to create pressure on his opponent when it mattered most and remained unable to cope up with the pace of the game. He went down against Wada in straight games without establishing his worth in the arena.
It was a wonderful fight in the starting points when Wada showed attacking display of his craft in the arena.
The hard-to-learn variations in Wada’s shots assisted him to maintain his superiority against his opponent on court.
Until the one-minute interval, the higher ranked Japanese player was leading the game with a comfortable margin on the board.
On the other hand, the Hong Kong shuttler put in extra effort to play positive badminton but remained unable to take charge of rallies and remained trailing in the ending half.
It was a smooth ride for the in-form Japanese shuttler who did not face any considerable resistance from his rival and won the first game with a staggering 21-15 margin on the board.
In the following set, Wada played with sound speed without leaving any opportunity for Chun Hei to find a good flow.
Wada was impressively fast on court and he did not face any problem in building a staggering gap until the end of first part.
The impressive Wada continued crushing his rival in the concluding half and remained successful in finishing it off with a 21-17 total on score board.
Japanese shuttler advanced into the second round after defeating Chun Hei in two games with a decent margin of 21-15 and 21-17.
