the first time on the hard courts of the Rexall Centre in York University. Zhang endured a mid match lapse to overcome the world number 47 Lino 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.
The 22-year old (Zhang) had a strong forehand which enabled her to win a praiseworthy 17 out of 27 return points, which were almost twice as her opponent's, making it a 63% win in the total service points.

During the second set the Chinese defence had faltered and she was unable to save even one of the four break points on her serve, however she broke her opponent three out of the five chances she was faced with.
Meanwhile, the Espanola’s defence was not as inept as her opponent’s and as she was able to save two of the five break points along with benefiting on a 100% of break points won.
The world number 47 (Lino) made a comeback after her loss in the first set, and although she did not perfect her accuracy, she was just able to win 42% of her total service points along with an exceptional return winning 58% of
her total return points, thus giving a total 51% win to overcome her 30-year-old opponent.
Although, the set was a close shave between both the players and they had a similar score in their service and return points, the world number 99, (Lino) pulled up her sleeves and outperformed her Hispanic opponent with only one
more point.
The 30-year-old Lino’s victory was short lived as she nose-dived in her service and return points with only 4% fewer points attaining 50% and 46% respectively.
