ponson has been great for them this year 6-1 record with a 4.06 era but in his last 4 games he has 2 ND and is 1-1. in his last start however he gave up 6 runs. But i believe it comes down to this will they go out and get a new pitcher for 1 game the lineup has been hot for the past 8 games. robinson cano, and a-rod have been lighting up along with Abreu and the new xavier nady with a great average against leftys (Jon Lester)

dfkhjgbd is right first off. I think Girardi trusts his pitcher to go their and pitch at least six innings. Manny and Ortiz have not been a factor in this series so I doubt Ponson has very much to worry about, but should still worry a little. Ponson has really learned how to work his fastball in with his slider and disappearing curveball, while not letting it affect his control. The Yankee offense is on fire of late and should still continue. You have to look at both pitchers starting todays game Lester is not an ace in the rotation, but he is still good with quality starts. Cano has to continue hitting. So far Boston has been outscored by the Yankees 11-2. I predict a sweep happening tonight in Boston final score Yankees 6 Boston 4.

Yankee fans are so unbelievable, as if all of baseball serves as a farm system for them.  "Let's see, I am not too happy with Ponson pithing tonight, so you have to send me a prime starter for tonight."  That's what your question sounds like.
