Shuruwaat looks favourite to thrive at Dundalk – Handicap (Div II) Preview
Shuruwaat seems to be in a favourable position to make a big impact in the Division II race of
http://www.valuecentre.ie%20handicap/ which is scheduled to be held at Dundalk racecourse on Friday, March 9.
The €4,830 contest of 1m Standard distance will commence at 8:30 (GMT). J. Motherway’s bay mare is geared up to compete against 9 opponents including Footprint, Suspect Device, Waterloo Sunrise, Atlas Peak, Secret Hero, College Sam, Nice Dream, The Gnathologist
and Tide Runner.
Though Shuruwaat has been winless to date since making her debut in May 2011, but the brilliant mare has delivered some classic performances on various tracks.
The seven-year-old sprinter ran well during her last three outings at Dundalk. After finishing 8th in a race on December 9, 2011, she went on to grab 10th spot in another contest during the first month of the year 2012.
The Michael N. O’Sullivan-owned mare stood fourth in her last start on February 3. She has earned £1,521 in prize money so far.
In compare with her rivals on today’s card, Shuruwaat is somewhat stronger and solid at the moment. It is anticipated that she will manage to make a big breakthrough and register the first ever triumph of her career.
Among the other runners, Waterloo Sunrise and Suspect Device are carrying reasonable forms, and they can do well at Dundalk.
Waterloo Sunrise has run for 10 times to date. Being winless like Shuruwaat, S. M. Duffy’s bay gelding unleashed elegant fights during his last three starts. Having finished third and second in two races during November-December 2011, he grabbed fourth spot
in his last outing.
On the other hand, Suspect Device poses to be a veteran runner. The trainee of Paul W. Flynn bagged the only victory of his career in June 2011. Being a 3-1 favourite, he finished seventh in August 2011. The young runner clinched 8th rank in his
last outing on February 24, 2012.
Thus, there is supposed to be a tough tug of war between Shuruwaat and her two potential rivals. Let us see who claims success. Good luck to all the runners.
