Shutters down for Dallas Cowboys’ Jon Kitna and Tony Fiammetta – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys’ impressive victory over Miami Dolphins 20-19 on Thursday at the Cowboys Stadium has raised the franchise’s chances to enter the playoffs, but it seems that the team will have to enter the next stage without quarterback
Jon Kitna and fullback Tony Fiammetta.
Both players are suffering from injuries and the progress of their recovery is not satisfactory. It is believed that shutters are down for them and they will not be able to play any more games in this season.
"We just don't know, and that is all we know, that we don't. Both of those guys are not definitive in any way medically," Cowboys’ owner/general manager Jerry Jones said.
Kitna has been suffering from back pain throughout the season. He has managed to play only three games without starting any of them. In the games he has participated, he has managed one touchdown, two interceptions and completed
six passes of 10 attempts for 87 yards.
The team’s fullback Tony Fiammetta is the other player who seems to have his season ended. He too is having a dreadful season due to prolonged illness. He has played a total of six games this season and started three of them. He
has so far failed to mark a memorable impression.
The increasing cause of worry is that the team’s medical unit is still unable to determine the nature of Tony’s illness, raising fear that determining the actual problem and treating it properly might take more time than expected.
“It shouldn't be cloaked in mystique," Jones said. "It's hard for him to do some things without nausea or without being incapable of doing them. So he's certainly under the care of a real evaluation. Right now we can't and he can't
function the way you have to, to play football. We don't know, that's it.”
Cowboys are leading the National Football League East division with seven victories and four defeats. Their offense has an average of 390.1 yards (271.6 passing yards and 118.5 rushing yards) per game, while the defence is holding
an average of 331.0 yards (230.7 passing yards and 100.3 rushing yards) per game. They will take on Arizona Cardinals in the week 13 encounter of the National Football League current season.
