my rabbits (i have two, in separate cages) are very shy around me. neither bite and i take good care of them. i pet them and take them out and play with them. i have this little cage out in the yard for them to run around and eat grass in. but they don't seem eager to see me, like all my other pets. why? can you help me bond with them please?

  1. you should take them out one at a time and watch t.v with them on ur lap and pet them and give em a carrot or lettuse for about a half hour and wen you put them back there hut give them a little pice of carrot and give em kiss so you get close to there face and they know you wont hurt them .. it works for me all the time

hope this works for you ♥

  2. i have a bunny his name is balloo i used to feel the same way about him too but then i started playing with him for a long time and

I've always fed him veggies i feed him peppers the red big ones and the yellow and orange and green ones and cilantro and carrots spinach leaves and lettuce he loves cilantro and bunnies love timony hay and alfalfa hay,

my bunnie likes to come inside the house and explore and sleeps on the back porch and is pody trained you can pody train them with litter boxes that have the bedding in it or newspaper shreds just put their p**p in there and they'll start using it.

he likes to chew on wires though so keep an eye on them if you let them inside

they like to explore new things so you can also buy a Bunnie harness leash and take them on a walk at a park or something. I try to give my Bunnie a plate of vegetables  every day.

you can give your bunnies a ball to play with like a big bouncy ball or a beach ball.

they also like to be chased around.

your bunnies probably need time to feel comfortable around you it usually can take a year or several months but just try to play games and give them lots of fresh vegetables from the refrigerator,

they're pretty lazy so they like to chill.

    good luck,

  3. This is going to sound silly, but when I was a leader of a cloverbud 4-H rabbit group, we did a class we called "the language of lagomorphs".  I had read (and taught to them) that sitting in front of the rabbits cage, grooming yourself without looking at them can help with their shyness.  They get this curiosity and think you're no longer a threat to them.  You'll notice that they'll come right up to the cage to check it out.  Once you've made friends with the rabbit, they'll take to you more easily.

Google "the language of lagomorphs" and you'll see a lot of what I used for this class.

  4. Well you need to spend time with them and give them treats and food that's how my rabbit was when i first got her then i played with her now she is always around me
