SiGNiNG YOUR RiGHTS AWAY AT OB/GYN APP.?

ok so i had a my docs.app. 2 weeks ago and they handed me this paper which was stating that i basically sign my right to any trial if they hurt or cause a miscarriage?!? i refused to sign they accepted.. but what is this all about? did any one have this happen to them recently

  1. Sounds like I would be checking around at other OB/GYN's.  You might need to switch.  I don't recall having to sign something like this.  

    Put a few calls into other places and see what they say.  Good Luck and Congrats!


  2. Nope. I've never had that and I would not sign it either.

    Was it your doctor's form or your insurance company's form?

  5. I just had my second child 3 weeks ago and Ive never had to sign anything like that. I wouldn't sign it, I'd find a new OBGYN.

  6. They just don't want to be sued for malpractice. But everyone knows those wavers won't hold up in court. Millions of people sue for medical malpractice from botched up surgeries every year and win even if they'd signed a waver.

    Find another doctor's office though. This one should be trying everything in their power to ensure you have a safe pregnancy & healthy baby. They shouldn't be cowarding out by making you sign a "What if" waver.
