Sialkot, Faisalabad, PHF Academy, Lahore win games in 3rd Junior Super Hockey League
Faisalabad, Sialkot, PHF Academy and Lahore have registered their victories against their respective competitors on the third day of the 3rd Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Under-18 Junior Super Hockey League played at the
National Hockey Stadium on Friday April 29, 2011.
Muhammad Rizwan and Ali Hassan displayed impressive show, as Faisalabad powered a convincing 9-0 win over Peshawar in the first match of the day. Dilbar Hussain scored the first goal of the day in the 4th minute of the game
to put Peshawar ahead on the score-board. Ali Hassan doubled the tally through a penalty-corner in the 10th minute while Bilal Qadir scored his first goal of the game in the 11th minute. Ali Hassan added another
goal from the field in the 21stminute to put Peshawar under heavy pressure.
The pace of the game continued to increase as the game progressed, as the players from Faisalabad were flying on a high momentum. Adnan Anwar and his team-mate, Mohsin Sabir, chipped in one goal apiece in the 25th and 31stminutes
of the first half to take an insurmountable lead. The first half of play concluded with Faisalabad holding a 6-0 lead in the game.
Following a tiny break, Muhammad Rizwan and Sufianullah scored two and one goal respectively, in the 42nd, 47th and 53rd minutes of the second half and sealed the massive victory for Faisalabad.
Peshawar failed to come on the score-board and lost the game by nine goals.
Sialkot, in the second match of the day, thrashed Multan by three goals, 6-3 and improved its position in the league. Muhammad Umair marked three goals of which two were taken on penalty corners. He hit the net three times in the 29th, 32nd,
and in 63rd minutes. Among the other strikers, Muhammad Sabir scored two goals in the 11th and 52nd minutes, while Muhammad Ali converted a penalty-corner in the 50th minute
of the game.
For Multan, Hafiz Zohaib scored a goal in the 23rd minute of the game, while his team-mates, Khurram Shahzad and Safir Hussain, added one goal each in the 51st and 69th minutes
of the contest. But they lost the game by 6-3.
In the third game, Lahore overwhelmed Karachi by four goals, 4-0. Muhammad Fahad and Hafiz Sardar scored one goal each in the 30th and 37th minutes of the game, while Zahid Amin and Muhammad Irfan managed
one goal apiece in the 58th and 60th minutes, respectively. The resilient defence of Lahore kept Karachi off the score-board throughout the match.
In another one-sided contest, PHF Academy acquired a victory by eight goals. Zohaib Ashraf scored three goals in the 15th, 18th and 32nd minutes of the game. Among the other scorers, Faraz
Zafar, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Naveed, Daud Khalid, and Shahid Jamal accounted for one goal each in the win by 8-0.
