Sialkot stunned a star studded Habib Bank Limited (HBL) side by 59 runs in a Division One match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 on Sunday, October 9, 2011.
HBL required 188 runs for victory, but were all out for 128 runs in their second innings.
The visitors were led by veteran Pakistan batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Younis-Khan-c98325, who opted to field first after winning the toss. The pitch appeared to be damp which suggested that the ball might swing in the first couple of hours of play.
The decision from Younis seemed to be a very good one, as the Sialkot team lost three wickets for just 19 runs on the board.
However, opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Ayub-c76805 rescued their side from trouble, scoring a terrific century stand for the fourth wicket.
The pair batted with a lot of maturity and put on 145 runs, hurting the opposition’s good start.
Yasin was unable to reach three figures as he was dismissed after contributing 89 runs to the total. He struck 16 boundaries in an impressive outing and did a fabulous job for the hosts.
Ayub did not miss out on an opportunity to score a big one, as he kept on batting solidly. The stylish batsman ended up with a brilliant knock of 186 runs, striking 26 fours and a couple of huge sixes.
Wicketkeeper batsman Mubeen Mughal also played a very handy knock of 47 runs towards the end of the innings, guiding the team to 397 runs in the end.

Although the visitors had a solid batting line up, they failed to reach even 300 in the first inning.
Flamboyant batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Farhat-c64218 top scored the innings with 105 runs and got terrific support from skipper Younis, who scored 52 runs.
However, the stylish right-handed batsman was run-out at a crucial stage of the innings, which saw the team only manage 293 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Prince-Abbas-c82664 was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, as he scalped a couple of wickets in the innings.
Sialkot’s second innings was a miserable one, as the team was all out for 83 runs. Only three batsmen managed to reach double figures with a highest score of 22 from Nabeel Malik.
Kaneria was in menacing form, picking up six wickets this time around for HBL.
However, the team was unable to chase down 188 runs for victory and were all out for 128. Farhat was once again the top scorer of the innings, but managed only 29 runs this time around.
Nabeel Malik won the match for Sialkot, picking up four wickets in the final innings of the game.
