Question:

Siamese Punishment?

Say there are these siamese twins and one of them commits murder spontaneously in a way the other could not control it. He/she ends up being found guilty of murder.

They are conjoined in a way that separation would cause death, and the innocent twin had no idea that the murder was going to occur until it did.

How would punishment occur? It would be unethical and wrong to jail the innocent twin for doing nothing wrong, but it would be just as wrong to last the guilty one walk.

If nobody can come up with a confirmed answer, it'd be nice to have somebody email a federal judge with the question, it's been bugging the h**l out of me lately.

  1. What soap opera is it that you are writing for now?

Oh, I get it. You write for the SciFi channel.

  2. Put the murderer on probation and let the conjoined one be hes probation officer.

  3. thats a freakin COOL question dude.

but think of the murder..i mean how the h**l would one twin commit a murder with one arm?

    i mean

if they're say sharing a brain, then if the guilty one can control and commit a murder, the innocent one should have the equal amount of control/pwoer to try and stop the guilty one.

  4. The innocent side of the twin would be mandated to report the felony, and could in fact, make a citizens arrest.   If the innocent side of the twin hesitates at the moment of truth, it could be immediate construed as obstruction of justice, or assisting in the murder (accomplice) for failing to REPORT, even though it was unable to stop the guilty side of the twin.

In this case there would be no punishment because it would obviously cause riots.  Imagine a country full of handicapped, less-fortunates throwing their wheelchairs, deformations, spitting, tourettes, not to mention all the Siamese Cats that would be pissed for all the backlash they would get just for having the same title of Siamese.  It would be like Weird Al Yankovich meets Rodney King.  No fires though, but a lot of saliva, and eerie moaning and groaning.

Additionally a hotshot billion-dollar-per-hour attorney would see the media frenzy and offer pro-bono services, and the glove wouldn't fit on the guilty side of the twin, and they would aquit.  Also, Chewbacca was a wookie

  5. THIS HAS BEEN ASKED BEFORE, regarding conjoint twins. One commits murder without the other one being not there? They are attached to each other is it not?

NO JUST USING OUR COMMON SENSE, if you for example is attached to your brother, you can move and even think of stabbing someone with your condition? I THINK NOT. Imagine going to the toilet with your brother, you cannot even tell him go out I am going to use the toilet 'would you mind?' no of course not you can't simple ask him to leave you both are attached to each other CORRECT?

SO I DOUBT EVEN ONE OF THEM CAN COMMIT A MURDER or a crime for these. IT IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE.

  6. Get a life.
