Say there are these siamese twins and one of them commits murder spontaneously in a way the other could not control it. He/she ends up being found guilty of murder.
They are conjoined in a way that separation would cause death, and the innocent twin had no idea that the murder was going to occur until it did.
How would punishment occur? It would be unethical and wrong to jail the innocent twin for doing nothing wrong, but it would be just as wrong to last the guilty one walk.
If nobody can come up with a confirmed answer, it'd be nice to have somebody email a federal judge with the question, it's been bugging the h**l out of me lately.
