Sibylle Dalacker claims Women’s 100m breaststroke gold: Day one – 2012 Zurich International Meet
Sibylle Dalacker of Badischer Schwimmverband stunned the aquatic crowd by claiming gold medal of the Women’s 100m breaststroke playoff on day one of the 2012 Zurich International Meet in Switzerland on Saturday, February 25.
This meet is of considerable value as it offers an opportunity to all elite swimmers to race with each other and overpower their deficiencies before the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Dalacker remained prominently ahead of her fellow competitors and completed her swim in a time of 1 minute and 10.69 seconds for the title of the event. She was trailed by Stephanie Spahn of SC Uster Wallisellen, who stayed almost two seconds slower from
Dalacker and ended her sprint in a time of 1 minute and 12.62 seconds.
Corinne Meier of Schwimmverein Emmen appeared on the finishing end for bronze medal as she hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 14.63 seconds.
After a while, Jovan Mitrovic dominated the Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) playoff. Mitrovic stayed nearly two body lengths ahead of his closest competitor throughout the event and ended his swim in a time of 4 minutes and 35.09 seconds for gold medal.
He was trailed by Kilian Bossard, who remained about five seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing blockade with the timing of 4 minutes and 40.87 seconds. Flavio De Corso settled on the victory stand for third position, as she posted a time of 4 minutes
and 41.69 seconds for third position.
Subsequently, Ivana Gabrilo accomplished gold medal of the Women’s 50m backstroke by concluding her race in a time of 29.86 seconds. She was followed by Alexandra Papusha, who was just 0.09 seconds slower from her and climbed the podium for silver medal
by submitting a time of 29.95 seconds.
She remained in a lead of 0.44 seconds over her following swimmer, Florence Sigg, who reported an effort of 30.39 seconds for third position.
Furthermore, the crowd appreciated commendable efforts of all participants in their exclusive events whereas the winners were invited on the medal rostrum for their scintillating efforts at the medal ceremony after the session.
