  1. Yahoo Maps can give you local information on most major European ciities/towns, including Sicily.

For more detailed research, you local travel or bookstore may have more details.

I just came back from Sicily and I learned alot more than the books alone, but the homework did prep me so I could gain more information/experience more when I travelled around Sicily.

  2. I cannot locate a San Agrigento... but I do know and have been to Agrigento. Lovely beaches and the world famous Valley of Temples. Santa Margherita di Belice is in the province of Agrigento (AG), just north of Sciacca (on the southwest coast).

When did your father leave the area? Maybe he left because of the poverty the area once suffered.

The area away from the sea is mainly agricultural and still very rural. It's a difficult terrain to farm and so life isn't always that easy. The coastal areas are not all that developed and therefore (where not ruined by the locals by building illegally) pretty much pristine - for the lack of polluting industries.

There is also a strong mafia presence in the area.....

  3. Yup yahooo maps i love ITALIA

  4. I suppose you mean Santa Margherita di Belice, in the province of Agrigento; it's in the western part of Sicily.
