Sicily family holiday ideas?

We are planning to go to Siciliy this fall including two kids, 9 and 11. We are looking to go in an area where we can relax, perhaps renting a house, but also do some tourism. Any reccomendations for nice areas would be appreciated.

rent a house in the island of Lipari - is just great !

You don't need to rent a car, you can visit all the other island around with a boat like panarea, vulcano ecc. there is lot to visit but you will relax and you will eat so WELL!
