Sick after getting a tattoo?

My friend got a pretty big tattoo yesterday around 1 pm. Today she has been having redness and rashes and has vomited. I thought it was probably an allergic reaction to the red ink, because I have heard of that..but why the vomiting? She has had 3 previous tattoos in the past with no problems. Do you thinkt he vomiting has anything to do with the tattoo?

When you get a tattoo, your immune system goes down.

She probably just has the flu.

You know, if she's vomiting as you wrote the question, you really ought to take her to urgent care.

I don't know if the tattoo ink is the culprit, but even if it is, all that vomiting can make her potassium level drop.  This is important for the heart beat.

In either case, that tattoo shouldn't be red that much already.   Best to have it checked out.

Did the artist smear something on it?

Vomitting can occur after getting a tattoo, even if it's a third tattoo.   Could be the pain that was associated with the tattoo?
