Sick animal for donations?

Would it be illegal to say your dog was sick and then accpet donations?

If you say yes please give me an expample or atleast explain why...I'm asking because I have a friend doing this.

I would think so, but don't consider myself an expert in this kind of stuff. :) However, what he/she is doing is incredibly dishonest and morally wrong, so I would seek help ASAP. Best wishes!

It's not illegal,but it is not the proper thing to do.It is being very dis-honest.Someday his dog might be sick and no one will believe him.
