Question:

Sick baby getting better as Mom gets sick. What to do?

For the last day and a half, my very active seven-month old has been slowed down with a runny/stuffy nose and a fever. He is much better today; still a little stuffy but otherwise happy and active.

Now I've got it. It hit me like a ton of bricks a few hours ago when I felt my head start to fill up with snots, and my throat started to hurt. If it follows the same course that my baby's did, I'll get the fever and the whole nine...

...NOT FUN. It's been years since I've had to care for a baby while I was sick. Any tips on making things run smoothly, and keeping this bug from being passed back and forth amongst family members? Or, if you don't have any advice, how 'bout sending some good vibes my way?

  1. Did you get them good vibes I sent ya a few hours ago whilst I was asleep in bed. (The power of mind is amazing) The person in your household who is going to be less likely to catch it is your baby (but from what I gather hes the one who passed it to you) To be honest if they're all gonna catch it I'd guess they're already well on their way so no need to put yourself in quarantine. Try hot lemon with honey in. Always works for me.

  2. just try to take it easy and occupy him with the tv and toys and stuff..relax and lay down as much as you can...you should wash your hands and things you touch frequently a lot...wash all of the bedding that the baby was sleeping in since it has his sick germs..same with your bedding, wash it now and then again when you are over your cold..

    good luck :o)

    good vibes ))))))))))

  3. i went through this over winter, everybody got it but the best i can tell you is to disinfect everything with lysol, don't share cups, silver ware, and just blow kisses.  anything you can do to try and contain your bug.  i feel for you, take it easy and try to get better. if you can get a sitter to take your kid for a night that would be good for you so you can have your strength and get better.  chicken noodle soup and someone to put a cool cloth on your head always makes you feel better too!

  4. Theraflu daytime for cough and stuffy/runny nose! works great and gives you a little burst of energy to help you get through it! I would use the Clorox anywhere spray to help with the spreading. Good Luck!

  5. Poor babies...I was sick a bit last week although Aaron didn't seem to get much more than a congested sound when he layed on his back and breathed.  Since you have the same thing as Mickey I would worry too much about spreading the germs back to him.  Sleep as much as you can, obviously ,and let the boy watch tv, if you normally don't, and try to veg out and catch up on some sleep or find out the last scoop on Pee Pee.  I really don't know what else to say.  Hopefully BF and Corey won't get it too.  Maybe you and Corey can hole up in the bedroom till this passes?  Good luck sista!

  6. The best thing to do for Mickey is nurse, nurse, nurse...You don't want it to get passed back to him..and try not to do much with food prep/cooking and just take it easy..I can honestly tell you I am in the same boat right now with my 17 month old, hubby, and I ALL 3 being sick..it is NOT fun...Yesterday I washed my hands really well and made some homemade soup and it was such a good boost for all of us...a big hit..and well since it was in the low 40's last night we all needed it..STUPID COLD FRONT...Anyways..I hope you feel better soon hun..being sick and taking care of little ones is no fun...Sending lots of good vibes to you..If you want to you could always ship Mickey and Corey 2 hours north for a few days ::HINT HINT:: :) Luv Ya Girlie <3
