  1. I know someone who had baby in for bronchiolitus and his Dad had flu really bad, bub ewas formula fed so just shows its the babies imune system ! she prob got gastro from being in the hospital..  I make sure we all have the flu shot to prevent anything extra coming into our home as we had a newborn.   Babies can get the shot  from 6 months .  I had 2 older kids 4 an5 admitted last year so thats another reason i had shot done, not one of us have gotten sick so it works. maybe look into in next year

  2. Please do not listen to the advice of one woman who suggested you start formula feeding!!! Your breast milk is perfect for her and contains immunoglobulans which help fight off infections that formula cannot contain. You are not doing anything wrong. One thing I would suggest is buying some hand disinfectant, you can buy it in a pump (like a gel) these are good to have when you go to the supermarket etc after you have been touching a trolley. You just pump a little on to your hands before touching baby. Dont do these things at home, there really is no need if you are clean and hygenic. Some babies are just prone to getting sicker than others. It sounds like she is recovering and in good hands I hope you are trying to look after yourself also! YOu must have been very stressed while baby was in hospital.

  3. Hun you are not doing anything wrong. My son has been sick for two months straight, no point in giving him antibiotics as it isn't that kind of illness. You just have to try and think positive, this will make her immune system stronger.

  4. i don't know you might not be doing anything wrong there are lots of bugs going around at the moment don't stress to much (I know it's hard not to) what does the Dr say?

  5. Unfortunately, when a baby (or anyone) is recovering from an illness, their immune system is lowered and they are more susceptible to other illnesses. You're not doing anything wrong! You just need to get your daughter through this time of sickness and hopefully this will help to strengthen her immune system when she is older. My 17 month old daughter is recovering from her fourth ear infection in a row and her doctor said that because she's had a few, she's more likely to keep getting them this year. Hopefully next year our babies will be healthier.

I hope she recovers quickly from this bout of gastro.

  6. Your prolly not doing anything wrong. Babies catch all kinds of stuff. They catch germs at walmart groceries stores any where other ppl are. Some babies immune systems are just weaker than others.

  7. It's nothing you did it's just that time of year even my 8 and 10 yr old have it . Even hubby has it...

It's going around and it's a bad case. Newborns still have to build an immunity to it all so they are weaker. Just keep her fluids up and keep her warm

  8. As mums we tend to very quickly blame ourself if our bubs are unwell ...easy to say but dont! As others have pointed out to you there are plenty of bugs that go around and around.  As bub was already feeling 'low' with the bronchiolitus than she would have been easier immune wise to have contracted the gastro.  Keep up the breast feeding and in contact with your doctor.

  9. Every child is different. You're not doing anything wrong.

I hope your daughter is feeling better soon.

  10. probably noting you could have done to prevent it but maybe formula may have more nutrients than you are providing.

get some good grade disinfectant and clean your home with it and make sure your daughter's toys are disinfected as, if there have been sick kids touching the toys and your daughter is touching the toys and then bub, that could be a possible cause.

  11. Its not anything you are doing wrong. Some babies are just sicker than others.  She will be fine.  I'm sure she is in good hands. Just be strong and hang in there things will get better.
