just yesterday night i noticed his tail area as wet and he smells really weird and bad. he is really skinny now and wont eat his favorite treat i offered him (sunflower seed). i have another dwarf hamster living with him and he is perfectly healthy. this one however just sits there. doing nothing while the other hamster is runny around and eating. i dont think he has wet tail because i thought it didnt occur in dwarfs. please help. also, i changed their diet just a little. it has all the basic things i usually feed them and just more toppings, like the papaya thing they sell at the pet store. i changed it 2 days ago.

  1. i am not sure about the wet tail but i am SURE he/she has something i would HIGHLY RECCOMEND that you sepprate them a.s.a.p. also, see your local vet!!! instead of buying another cage you can just use kitchen dishes for his food bowl, a laundry basket of some sort for it's cage, and a towl to sleep on! just use your water bottle as a baby bottle type thing for the one that is not in its cage! hope i helped and good luck! ; )

  2. Seperate the two and sanitize the cage with diluted bleach. The hamster has diarrhea, which is a horrible disease, so I'd take him to the vet ASAP. It isn't Wet Tail, but diarrhea can lead to other potentially harmful diseases. Take the other hamster, too, because he might have picked it up (it's contagious through other hamsters).

  3. probably wet tail. separate your hammys and take the sick one to the vet asap! it is very late in the illness. dont be too woried just keep rehydrating him with a little dropper if he is not drinkng. good luck! give the hammy kisses! ♥♥
