I've been given two budgies and they both appear to have enlarged beaks, one has become flightless and I'm worried if it is a disease it will spread to my other birds, I haven't been able to find any pictures online that look like what my birds have. They have great diets of eucalypt, fruit, grass and seed but nothing has changed in two weeks.

  1. You can take them to the vet.

  2. take the 2 that r sick and take them to the vet soon as possible they could get worse and then one day they mite pass away if they do have an infection talk to the vet about what to do on medication and seperatin the birds

           hope they get better

  3. You should never introduce new birds to your current flock until the birds have been checked. I think you need to take your birds (All, old and new) and get them checked out. Make sure you see an Avian vet, not a regular vet.

Birds are great at hiding illnesses so if you ever think anything is strange it could possibly been going on longer than you realize.

They could just have over grown beaks from no chewing supplies. Or a sore wing, but you really need to get their beaks trimmed and need to get that wing checked out. If they birds do turn out to have something take your other birds there too, or do it all in one round.

    Good luck!

  4. if i were you i would make a appointment with an avian vet, and take away the eucalypt, its bad and makes them drowsy and un active.

leave cuttle fish in the cage (dryed squid from beach) for calsuim.

do you have a speerate cage? its best to put the sick ones in that cage or seperated some how, to prevent the spread of a possible bird flu.

    good luck mate xoxo
