Question:

Sick cat, messed all over, which is okay?

This stray cat I'm taking care of messed all over his cage and then laid in it.

He's all skin and bones, really frail. I don't want to bathe him because he'll squirm and I'm afraid of hurting him.

What can I use to clean him off? Are baby wipes okay? Would they even do a good enough job?

  2. I'd give him a bath, even if he's terribly thin.  I've found that giving them a bath actually makes them feel better - cats don't like to be dirty, and when they are outside like that, they get filthy.  The bath will actually wash off all that street grime, and dirt.  He might not squirm as much as you think he will ...  Feed him small quantities, often.  Once he's wormed, and gotten used to eating again, the weight will come back on!

  3. i same the same exact kind of cat, they are naturally really skinny.

  4. You can get cat cleaning wipes at the pet store, walmart even. But you should clean the cage and maybe he'll clean himself. And of course bring him to the vet cause cats will seldom mess on themselves. It could be as simple as stress.

  5. my stray cat was like that too.i just putted food an only sometimes it eats.i just waited for weeks and than one day it was normal again.if does not work for you, you should search the web.that's what i did.
