  1. Combination of things.. First, you might be dehydrated.  Second, as the other person stated, during a visit your body /muscles might go into shock like it does in a car accident due to the sudden "adjustment," that is done during a visit.  If you got a massage before or afterwards, then your muscles had toxins released into your system and you need water to help your body get rid of it or you will get sick.  If you drink any sugar or caffeinated drink figure that you have to drink cup for cup of water just to break even with your system for the daily water allowance.  Hope that helps, Cheers.

  2. Yes, a lot of people do. Tell him to go easily and gently on you next time and tell him about your sick feeling. 3 years is kind of a long time to go without "checking in".

  3. If this was your first time in three years your body may be in shock at the sudden realignment of your spine or other joints.

I know this sounds crazy, but it really works: in your mind talk to your body as if it were in a therapy session with your mind. Remind your body of the pain it may have been in before the adjustment and bring to its attention that the specific area adjusted feels better. This may ease the shock. If you still feel sick, you may want to visit your local natural foods and healing store, they may have an oil that can help.

If you're in doubt, consult your chiropractor and ask if anything came out of alignment during the adjustment. This would definately put your body into shock.
