Sick line help needed?

I had a sick line for 2 weeks and then the doctor signed me off for another 5 weeks, the current sick line ran out on Monday but unfortunately I couldnt get an appointment until next Thursday (10 days later) as he is off on hols at the minute, no other doctor could take over the signing for him. I know when I go and see him he will back date it, but how will it work regarding my work? Will it go as unauthorized absence even though I told them the situation?

When he gets back if he will write you off for the whole time he was gone then you should be fine.  If he won't you will probably be in trouble.
