Sick question!? help!?

okey so i took my meds for strep throat, it helped at the time, but im out of it after two weeks and i still have it....

is it possible that its not strep throat and something else? what could it be?

cant eat or drink (hurts to swallow at all), EXTREMELY dizzy/grogginess, sleeping a lot because im always like falling over, loss of appetite, fever, headaches...

doctor said it was strep symptoms but i was treated for it and its back!!

  1. You could have a antibiotic-resistant strain of strep or you could have some other problem, like influenza or mono.  You should see your doctor again and ask that you be culture-tested for strep (even if you were before because that will prove that you still have it now) and if it comes back positive, you should ask for a stronger, harder antibiotic.  If it is negative, then you should be tested for mono.  Either way, your treatment should definitely get more treatment.  Good luck.

  3. Normally, a doctor will take a look at the back of your throat to confirm strep. There are usually little dots of pus at the back of your throat when you have strep. I personally haven't heard of anything else that will cause this. I'm assuming your doc looked at your throat. Just go back to your doc.
