Siddharath Thakur gains access to main round of 2013 All India Senior Ranking Tournament

India’s budding shuttler Siddharath Thakur stretched his winning streak in the Men’s Singles qualifying round of Smt.Vankina Anjani Devi Memorial All India Senior Ranking Tournament and marched into main round on January 24, 2013.
He was up against a compatriot shuttler Dilshad K. and this encounter remained in full swing for 35 minutes in local badminton complex of Hyderabad.
Siddharath, who was underrated earlier in this tournament, registered his presence by sealing a straight-set victory with 21-16 and 21-18.
With this impressive win, he setup his next clash with Abhinav Manota in the main round of Men’s Singles event.
Siddharath has alarmed all the contestants with his electrifying performance in the qualifying round and now he is all set to continue his successful run.
In his last match, he did not give Dilshad even a single chance to comeback and sent him packing with a staggering knock.
He laid foundation of his supremacy immediately in the beginning and maintained that dominance all the way to final moments.
In the opening game, he bagged many valuable points in the establishing rallies and piled up a mountainous figure in no time.
This intensive attack confined Dilshad in the rear court and he failed to proceed on the points table until half time.
Though, he made a decent effort to narrow the gap in latter part of the game but he could not match his rival’s speed.
On the other hand, Siddharath prevailed in couple of rallies and widened the gap. He maintained that difference until game point situation and wrapped this segment of the showdown with an overwhelming score of 21-16.
The following game was also dominated by the victorious shuttler of the previous set. This time Siddharath changed his tactics and played furiously from very stroke to the last one.
He did not show mercy at any stage of the game and kept his opponent at the lower end. The best part of match was when both contenders were standing equal in the final stage but Siddharath locked the honour in a splendid manner.
He struck hard when it mattered and tipped the scale in his favour with 21-18 score on the board.
