I just read the book Siddhartha and found it a little confusing, but if you please answer my question below that would help me out alot thank you:

Siddhartha must reconcile his own desire for self-fulfilment and Buddhism's teachings regarding the individuals place as a part of a universal whole. Which of these two ideals is more convincingly proven?
