Siddle leads Bushrangers to easy victory
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Victoria-c859 Bushrangers recorded their third win of the Champions League Twenty20 series with an emphatic eight-wicket successover the Wayamba Elevens on Monday.
Peter Siddle was the catalyst for the win, recording career-best figures of 4-29 as he helped dismiss Wayamba for a dismal 106 in only 16.3 overs. The Australian pace man was admirably supported by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653, who both took two wickets each. Jehan Mubark (44) and Mahela Jaywardene (51) looked to building a big innings lead for the Sri Lankans’ until Siddle skittled them both over in quick succession to leave the Big Bash winners firmly in control, as they ripped through the tail to leave them with an easy total to chase.
Five Wayamba batsmen were all dismissed for ducks, one short of the Twenty20 record held jointly by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in February.
Bushrangers wasted little time in chasing down the total, cruising to 107 with 40 balls to spare. David Hussey (47) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Isuru-Udana-c64628, whose continued tactic to bowl short, was food and drink to the experienced Aussie. Udana went for 20 in one over as Hussey demolished the ball to all parts of the ground, including a huge six through mid-wicket.
Finch also looked in good touch, and his sensibly played innings means he now joins http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844’s at the top of the run-charts on 197 for the tournament.
The result leaves the Aussie side needing a victory from their final group game to assure qualification for the semi-finals.
