Side Flexibility...?

I need help with lifting my leg side. Like in develope. But everytime it feels like something is going to pop and i have to pull my knee up with my hands and you can hear something like a bone rubbing together or something and it feels weird. can someone help me?

  1. This is actually quite common. The "popping" you feel is your hip flexor. Don't worry, as long as there is no pain associated with it then your fine. You may be trying to push your leg too far to the side. Try keeping your turn-out natural. Also remember that the height of the leg actually comes from keeping your standing leg absolutely straight and lengthened. If you take some of the energy your using with the working leg and apply it to the standing leg you'll be able to ease the strain a bit. Also, hip flexor problems come from working in a turned out position. Make sure you are stretching in a parallel position as well to enable the flexibility of the t-bands (outer leg) and hamstrings.
