Side Kick LX question???

I was at my local t -mobile store and they said for the LX to work properly i need internet (20$ extra a month) is this true??? Or are they trying to make a quick buck.

I will use it just to text and stuff.

Also i had a Sidekick id and it work fine with no internet.

yes this is true.... the sidekick plan is needed... it get u unlimited txt, pic messaging browsin ect... but u do need it use the phones features.
