Side cover on Bike?

I was wanting to know if anyone knows what goes in the little triangle near the engine, when i bought it the owner told me it was for a tool kit, I was wondering if there was a cover i could buy somewhere. Here is the picture. It is a 1982 Honda CM250 Custom
