Side effects of pain killers?

would taking five 5/500 mg of vicodin be overdosing? ( 150lbs)

is passing out a sign of over dosing?

um go to the doctor if you took that much or you could possibly do a lot of damage to your body and yes you could die.

It depends on if you've been taking them long term, then five wouldn't overdose most likely, the acetaminophen will affect your liver that is a way high dose of that (vicodin is mixed with acetaminophen) 5mg is the lowest dose of vicodin, drowsiness is a side effect, a rash and itchiness is a sign of close to overdosing. I wouldn't recommend taking 5 at once.

5/500mg of vicodin means that there is 5 mg of hydrocodone and 500 mg of acetominophen. Hydrocodone is a lab created version of codeine which has been known to knck people out. Technically, you can take up to 6 tablets a day and not "overdose". However, if you take it the way your doctor prescribed or take it less frequently, you'll be fine. As for passing out, it happens with almost all pain medications.

Also, if you're wondering how strong that particular strength is, the strongest vicodin you can get is 10/750mg.

Plus, if you took five tablets, I'd be more concerned with what the acetominophen is doing to your liver. That much acetominophen could do the same thing as drinking too much alcohol.

By the way, if this is not your prescription, DON'T TAKE THE PILLS! MORE PEOPLE ARE DYING TODAY FROM TAKING PRESCRIPTION PILLS THAT AREN'T THEIRS! Sorry, I hate to be preachy, but after working in a pharmacy and seeing how people abuse drugs, it saddens me to see people lose their lives to something so stupid.

It could be a side effect.   All drugs have that potential for that.  They can cause constipation and that is a very big problem.   Also,  5/500 is pretty strong.
