  1. You are not taking Zyrtec for anxiety.  It is an allergy med.

    Do you mean Xanax?

  2. The above answers are correct. Hope you are not taking it with other medications, otherwise check with your pcp (Primary care physician)...and read the inserts and the small prints. I can't take it because I am taking other medications for allergy like Claritin etc. But my relatives who have taken it says it's good and they have experience no side effect. It could cause drowsiness though, so be careful if you take it and drive.

  3. Zyrtec is an antihistamine. It is prescribed to treat the sneezing; itchy, runny nose; and itchy, red, watery eyes caused by seasonal allergies such as hay fever. Zyrtec also relieves the symptoms of year-round allergies due to dust, mold, and animal dander. This medication is also used in the treatment of chronic itchy skin and hives.

While most people have no problems with Zyrtec, side effects are possible. Some of the more common side effects in adults include drowsiness, fatigue, and dry mouth.

Check the spelling of that med. u were prescribed and an ill edit my answer - but sometimes they do use antihistamines for anxiety for ex: Visteral.  Put they dont work that great for anxiety.

    Feel Good =)

  4. If this is your first time taking it you have to give it a chance for your body to adjust to you taking it. You have to take it per the instructions in the prescription pamphlet and Zyrtec is used for allergies not anxiety. Also if it has adverse affects talk to your doctor about changing to something similar to Zyrtec. Fatigue, dizziness and headaches are some of the symptoms.
