Side strain forces Broad out of World Cup
Stuart Broad has been ruled out of the World Cup 2011 with a side strain, he picked up during the match against South Africa. Chris Tremlett is likely to replace Broad in the squad, though http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 Cricket Board (ECB) has yet to confirm it. The 24-year-old
fast bowler will depart to English in next 24 hours for further assessment and treatment. The intensity of injury and the timescale for recovery has not been verified so far.
Broad is due to join http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 and South Africa depends on the assessment of ECB’s medical staff.
Nick Peirce, ECB chief medical officer, confirmed that initial assessment indicated a strain to his left side. "Subsequent scans have confirmed a significant side strain injury - where the muscle attaches the rib - that will rule him out of the remainder
of the World Cup. This is a new injury, separate from the abdominal tear suffered during the Ashes, that requires a period of recuperation and rehabilitation and the duration of this recovery period will be determined following further assessment in the UK,"
said Peirce.
English side has already lost their star batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 is coming to join team in place of him. Broad’s exit is a huge blow for England as there is no notable back-up fast bowler who can replace Broad.

my second spell. It stiffened up after the game.”
"It's quite a common injury within bowlers," he said. "If the injury is a natural side strain or tear, it's something you have to be very careful of, and make sure you take your time to get fit again, and not rush back," he added
Broad has picked up 130 wickets in his 76 matches for England and his average of 25.65 is the fifth best among all bowlers who have picked up 100 or more wickets since 2006. Chris Tremlett, expected replacement of Broad, has played 13 one-dayers in which
he picked up 15 wickets at an average of 41.
ECB has to get an approval from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Event Technical Committee for replacement. There are calls from some quarters for England to look elsewhere for substitute but Tremlett is most likely to be included in the squad.
