If it was your choice yould you choose the Sidekick LX or the Blackberry Pearl. I read some of the other answers and I noticed most of them said the Blackberry Pearl but now that I know that there is going to be a update for the LX that will enable it to play videos that makes it a little different. And I hear the Pearl has navigation. The LX is supposed to have the best MySpace experience of all phones out except the I phone. They are both nice phones but I like the LX I might be biast because I have a LX myself. So I was wondering which one you thought?

  1. Sounds like the LX is a nice phone, I guess it's really what you like and what you are used to and what you are willing to try - there are so many options available now days in the smartphone playground.

With all that said, I have to make a case for my BlackBerry Pearl 8130 I got from Verizon.  I have had it for about five months now and absolutely love it (funky keyboard not withstanding).  I had to get used to the 'Suretype' system but did after awhile and now, with a new free program that is going around, that is not even an issue anymore - more about that later.

The things I like about the BlackBerry is the way it syncs up to my laptop and updates with my MS Outlook calendar, notes, and tasks.  The same appts I enter on my Laptop are automatically updated to my BB.  I like the really cool applications that are available to load onto the BB - just about anything you can think of.  Mine are mostly news, rss, web, google maps with GPS (Verizon requires you use their gps program and they disable the built in GPS on the 8130 which sucks, but they do have a really top notch program, it just costs an extra $10 a month.)  And now the special program I was talking about earlier, it's called Vlingo and it is a Voice to Text program that is GREAT.  I use it as the main interface to my phone for calling, web searches, notes to myself, sending messages to friends.  I speak what I want sent and vlingo types it out and interfaces with my contact book and can message or email my contacts - no typing on my part, way cool.  I love it.

The more I use my BlackBerry Pearl the more I like it.  It is a great phone -  I don't use facebook or myspace but there are a lot of apps for those sites for the BB if that is your cup of tea.
