Sidekick lx ota update..again??

Ok well I was thinking about the ota when I looked into network options on my sidekick so I looked and under roaming it said"allow software and firmware Over-the-air updates while roaming" do I have to have that checked in order to get the OTA ???? Please help thanks=]]
