  1. Just Play the game...

Enjoy the position your at, and try to make the best out of it...

i am a prop... love to be a winger also... ohwell

  2. LOL at the first answer! He means 'sidestepping',which is a  move, not sidestep practice as in skip practice. LOL I laughed when I read that. When you sidestep practice, hes not serious about the sport.(my opinion)LOLOL

  3. The below link has some hints and tips on it as well as a short master class from Shane Williams.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_un...

  4. Sidestepping isn't the most important part of being a winger..

I'd say its reading the game, and learning the timings to suddenly change your speed, or whether to cut back inside or go for the corner etc.

You seem to be doing fine at it, so if you gain more experience on the wing, you'll do well =]

  5. When a player sidesteps practise he'snot serious about the sport (my opinion).  You want to change from one position

to another ... have you discussed it with your coach or management or advisor etc?  Players/coaches outside can give u tips but it's up to your coach and management to decice whether you've got the potential as a winger - savvy, speed, stammina etc.  Discuss it with them and if they disagree they must explain the views and you must attempt to understand and if you love the game, play where you are  best.

  6. get some cones out and place them diagnolly. put one foot towards the first cone and then spring off so u land on the other foot changing direction. after a while place out up to six cones and do the same drill at pace.

however if u want to go one way it has to look like ur going the other way in order to fool the opposition.

Also, work on your acceleration.......go to msprint club and really work hard on pushing off one leg to the other.

nothing comes easily ......ull have to be commited and bust a gut if it means tht much to ya

  7. I dont know how you can practice sidestep tho simply because sidesteping is something you were born with. I mean its a talent not an ABC to learn.

But I'd say if you want to learn the art of sidestepping, try christian cullen
