Thanks GG - so I am NOT seeing things, right? They really do that? LOL!!

So it's just cause they are excited, they know they are gonna get to run their hearts out (and I say that with no disrespect and only in the most positive of meanings - I hate that I feel like I need to qualify that :-( )

Is it cause they really do feed off the crowd?? I mean you hear people say all the time that they love racing, they talk about how some horses don't do well in the Post Parade...of course Big Brown seems to drink it in!

He was smiling the whole time I swear during the Riders Up Ceremony! LOL!!

I know that's all a big mosh, but there are some questions in there for you to clarify for me GG if you will :-)

  1. The horse are a little worked up cause they know what's coming and try to trot ahead.  But they're held pretty tightly by the post horses' riders so they can only swing their rear ends out.

I know exactly what you mean.  :)

  2. its just an excitable horse thing.my t-bred always did it when she was excited/psyched.

  3. They just get excited, they horses hop to the side out of excitement, they won't hurt themselves doing it, the racers are faster than their pit ponies and much more excitable.

  4. ur being silly !

  5. I know what you mean and it does seem they walk sideways at times. I think, maybe, because  the horses have turned their heads and are looking to the side, it appears they are walking sideways.
