Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin respect different Player views on Lockout -NHL Update
Speaking out against their own labour union and the Players’ Association, some players like Troy Brouwer were furious at Roman Hamrlik and others about even thinking to do so at such a crucial time when motivation to push for a new deal is everything.
Expected to go all out against those who talked against the labour union, Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin actually had a softer position and termed it to be a difference of opinion, which is totally respectable.
"I think a lot of the guys are frustrated with just the not talking," Crosby said, according to TSN.ca. "We understand the business side – that there's negotiations and proposals going back and forth...but I think the whole process is just frustrating.”
The Pittsburgh Penguins superstar captain and All-Star player went on to add that it is extremely difficult to get 700-plus players to be on the same page and that there would obviously be differences amongst them. He also termed it to be a product of all
the confusion and frustration spread throughout the league due to the lockout and more should be expected in the upcoming days and weeks.
Alex Ovechkin’s views did not differ much either as the Capitals captain and current player of the Russian Dynamo Moscow, blamed it to be on tensions rising amongst players due to the slow progress they have seen thus far in labour talks.
"Couple guys pissed off, they say bad things, but we stick together and we're not going to listen to those guys," Washington Capitals captain, Alex Ovechkin added. "We have a team and of course, everyone wants to play, but we have to stick together...and
I don't know if everyone's on the same page as those guys."
With the recent halt and deadlock, there is bound to be confusion from all corners of the hockey league, but both experienced players have appealed for the labour union to remain united if they hope on working out a deal to their benefit.
It will be interesting to see how the situation plays out in the next couple of days as both sides push towards a deal.
