Siem de Jong: It’s okay for me to stay a few years at Ajax Amsterdam – Dutch Eredivisie news
Ajax Amsterdam’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Siem-de-Jong-c33482 has revealed that it is good for him to stay at Amsterdam Arena for the next few seasons. The 22-year-old recently signed an extension to his contract and would be with the Amsterdam giants until the summer 2015.
The attacking midfielder is a product of the Amsterdammers renowned youth academy and started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2007/08 season.  The promising youngster has so far netted 25 goals in 86 matches for the Amsterdam giants and
is looking for more success in the seasons to come.
The young midfield ace’s old contract was due to expire in the summer of 2013. Borussia Dortmund, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RC-Lens-c40322 had expressed interest in signing the midfielder, but the 22-year-old preferred to prolong his stay in Amsterdam.
The Dutch International revealed that he is young and it is better to stay with his parent club to further develop his skills.
“I am only 22 years at present. It’s okay for me if I stay a few years at Ajax. Last season, I was a part of the first team for the first time in my career. It would be foolish to make a move away at this point of my career”, De Jong said while talking to
the journalists.
After Frank de Boer took over the managerial hot seat at Amsterdam Arena from Martin Jol in December 2010, the 22-year-old’s role on the field was changed as De Boer moved him to a more central attacking position. Furthermore, in the absence of Mounir El
Hamdaoui, the youngster also played as a striker towards the end of the 2010/11 campaign.
However, after the arrival of Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, the Dutch International would again be seeing himself in a central role in the upcoming season, where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Janssen-c34871 will provide him stiff competition.
However, the youngster reveals that he is confident about his place in the playing eleven.
“I stand differently in the selection, as I have shown what I can do for Ajax”, De Jong concluded.
The 22-year-old would be looking to perform impressively in the upcoming seasons for the Amsterdammers before making a lucrative move to one of the elite clubs in European football.
