The Robur President has revealed that he will be looking for a ‘short meeting’ with the Rossoblu chief to resolve the controversy regarding the co-owned striker.
Massimo Mezzaroma has stressed that Mattia Destro is only looking for a top club, and believes that the time has come for the two clubs to resolve their issues regarding the striker.
The Robur attacker spent the last season on-loan to the Bianconeri, where his promising performances in front of the goal have caught the eye of many of the top clubs in all of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926.
The 21-year-old was expected to return to the owners Genoa at the end of the season, where the potential buyers were standing by with lucrative bids to capture the talent.
However, Siena opted to buy the half-share in the player at the last moment, an option that was provided to them in their loan-agreement with the Grifone.
The Robur President had earlier explained his reasoning behind making the move to co-own the player, and has now encouraged the other co-owners to sit down to talk about the matter.
Mezzaroma stated that he is looking forward to arrange a quick meeting with Genoa President Enrico Preziosi to talk about the matter, and insisted that it is about time that the co-ownership is sorted out.
The Siena patron stressed that Destro is one of the most valuable young talents in Italy, but insisted that the fact is no reason for the two clubs to get into a conflict with each other.
The Robur chief stressed that the young striker has made it clear that he wants a move to one of the top clubs, and insisted that it will be better for both the outfits to resolve the matter over Destro as soon as possible.
“I think that we’ll have a short meeting with [Genoa President Enrico] Preziosi to resolve the issue. We want to get along with the Rossoblu, but Mattia is one of the best strikers, with perspective for the future, and for the national team. We would like
to close the controversy concerning him before the weekend - the player has no favourites, he is just looking for a top club.” He added.
