Sierra Brooks comes home to AJGA Wyndham Cup
Sierra Brooks, member of the victorious US team who won the Evian Masters Juniors Cup 2012 has come home and will now play in AJGA Wyndham Cup.
Brooks played a great game at the French event and her performance was crucial in leading the US to the victory stand. The tournament was really nerve wrecking and the defending champion, Spain appeared to have dug its heel. This win was something all four
members would remember for a long time.
After the tournament, many experts were saying that the team needed some rest after its tough competition in France. This was justified, given the amount of stress the four players had gone through. However, Brooks surprised everyone.
She announced that she will be taking part in the upcoming American Junior Golf Association’s Wyndham Cup, a well known tournament for young golfers. This tournament will be held at Bay Hill Course, located in Orlando, Florida.
Brooks will represent the East in the Wyndham Cup. This time, the Cup will be contested by 40 top junior players, divided into teams.
She was a rather late entry in the event because of her uncertain participation status due to the Evian Masters Juniors Cup.
However, she was eager to play in the well known tournament and decide to participate, even when she appeared too tired from the stress of the event.
Talking about her plans and the stress she had gone through, brooks said, “It was the experience of a lifetime playing in France. I’m a little bit tired but by the time I wake up tomorrow, I’ll be all good”.
One reason why Brooks is so eager to participate in the Wyndham Cup is because of the high status of the Cup. It is considered to be one of the most prestigious tournaments for junior golfers.
If Brooks manages to perform well in the event, her record will improve significantly and her rankings will go up.
At the moment, Sierra Brooks is at number 30th in the Polo Golf Rankings. She has already improved her rankings after she shared a sixth position at the Rolex Tournament of Champions.
