Hi guys, I was just wondering if you had any experience with the 32 round Promag for the Sig P226 9mm? I am debating getting the P226 Blackwater edition.

Thanks,

- Nick

  1. Man, just get the standard P226.  Special Editions are a waste of money and are just a ploy. I would avoid non-factory mags unless they go to an old .22 rifle or something like a 1911 or Highpower.

  2. I would stick to the Mec-Gar or factory magazines.  Most of the others are not made up to standards.  The have problems like jamming or just plain failing after a very short time.

I shoot an older non railed model P226.  It is the best shooting 9 mm I have ever had the pleasure of shooting.  Any P226 you get should serve you well and they normally out shoot the shooter.  I know mine shoots better then I do.  I know I can put 60 rounds in a 2" hole at 15 yards but shooting off of sand bags I can put 60 rounds in a 1.5" hole at 25 yards.  Not many other 9 mm pistols can do that.

Just get more magazines of the type I have mentioned and you will be able to blast away for some time before you reload.

  3. Promag means run away.  Save your money.  I've never heard a good thing about them.

  4. I have used ProMag magazines twice, and been disappointed both times.  They neither one fed well, and they were for different guns.  I do not use them and don't plan to purchase any more unless I can be assured of an increase in quality from them.
