Hi guys. I am going on a business trip to Dublin Ireland. I'll have free day and a half, so I need tips what's a must-see in the city. To give you a hint: I am not much into spending the whole day in museums and art galleries, etc.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks a million

  1. http://www.viator.com/tours/Ireland/The-... < -- This gives you a basic rundown of things to do in Ireland.

The Guinness house, Dublin Zoo, Croke Park, Wicklow Jail , Kilmanen Jail and the GPO which  is a post office with a great historical significance to it are great things to see.

You could go down to Cork and See the Blarney Stone. The myth is If you kiss it you’ll never shut up!

For the scenery I like the Wicklow mountains.--- > http://www.gsi.ie/NR/rdonlyres/6CC9C746-...

Also in Wicklow, are the Sugarloaf mountains. They’re very beautiful too.-- > http://www.lookaroundireland.com/countie...

In Dublin, The best night life is definitely in Temple Bar. It’s big, It’s modern and It’s expensive while it has loads of history and culture to it too.

Here are some sights on Tourism in Ireland:

    Good Luck. = )

  2. Go to a few pubs.  Check out a whiskey distillery or a brewery (free samples).  Also St Patricks Cathedral is interesting.  Shopping on the pedestrian way is also a good idea.

  3. If you just want to stay in Dublin, then take a bus tour. They run every 15 min so you can jump on anytime and i think it was about $15. They will take you around the entire city from Parliament, to temple bar to the Guinness factory to museums. You can get off at any stop and stay as long as you like and then jump on a different bus that comes by.

I was in Dublin for 2 days and didnt have enough time to see everything so dont think you wont have anything to do because there is plenty.

  4. go down the street of st stephens green  by the teathre, turn the corner and you'll be faced with this lovely restaurant that has the window taken out on really nice days,im not sure of the name the food is lovely and not too pricey

then go to st stephens green park for a wander round, takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city

take a DART train out to Howth and go on the cliff walk,it's breathtaking

don't go with what the first answerer said, the GPO is really not interesting at all, maybe because im so used to it living in dublin.

and have a wander up grafton street and do some shopping!

    have a nice time

  5. If your on a business trip, i imagine you want to relax for the day you have free here.  The best place to do this around St Stephen's Green.  Start the day by enjoying a latte and a toastie in one of the many coffee shops just of Grafton Street.  Then you could wander down Dame street to Dublinia, this is an exhibition covering the formative period of Dublins history from the arrival of the Anglo-Normans in 1170, very interesting.  Now stroll back towards grafton street and explore some of its side streets and Powerscourt shopping center.  You'll be amazed by some of the shops, you will definitely find everything is unique.  Now, finally, a stop off for a pint or a half of the black stuff.  O'Donoghue's on Merrion Row (just off St Stephens Green) is a great traditional pub, and they serve food, as in dinner!  And its reasonably prices.  Enjoy your stay!
